SHAH ALAM, March 31 — Selangor is expected to finalise a plan within three weeks to allow civil servants in the state to work from home as part of efforts to reduce fuel consumption.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the initiative follows the Federal Government’s call to cut back on petrol and gas usage, The Star reported.
“We are working on the plan, and if there is a need, I will inform the state government’s management.
“The implementation is aimed at reducing consumption of petrol and gas,” he was quoted as saying during a Wanita Berdaya Selangor (WBS) event at the Selangor State Secretariat Building, today.
He added that the proposal would require detailed evaluation to ensure productivity is not adversely affected.
Amirudin said the arrangement may involve scheduling employees to work from home on selected days.
