Selangor unveils RM3 bln budget for 2025, focus on progress, prosperity

SHAH ALAM, Nov 15 — Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has announced RM3 billion in allocations for the 2025 Selangor Budget today.

Themed ‘A Dynamic Selangor: An Ideal Quest for a Civil Malaysia,’ Amirudin said the budget reflects Selangor as a manifestation of the state administration’s shared responsibility to build a Selangor that gives its people an opportunity to progress and prosper.

The Menteri Besar said the budget has five main focus areas, including Artificial Intelligence and Education as a Catalyst for State Economic Development, Uplifting an Aspiration of a Sustainable Environment and Quality Infrastructure, Promoting a Compassionate State, Championing an Efficient and Responsible System of Government, and Breathing New Life into the Creative Economy and Developing the Next Generation.

Speaking in the Selangor State Legislative Assembly during the budget’s tabling, he said 56.7 per cent of the allocations, or RM1.7 billion, have been set aside for operating expenditures, while the remaining 43.3 per cent, or RM1.2 billion, will be used for development expenditures.
