From 17 August, working mothers in Selangor can check whether they qualify for RM1,000 in cash aid under MamaKerja 2.0. The Selangor state government has set aside RM10.6 million to fund this programme, made up of RM5.6 million from the 2026 state budget and RM5 million from the Selangor Resilience Package 2026, and hopes to reach 10,000 women.

You can check your eligibility at the Mama Kerja page on the NINE app website, and applications go through the NINE app.

Who Can Apply For MamaKerja 2.0

You need to be a working woman with at least one child aged six or below, while your household income must be RM8,000 a month or below. You will also need to provide documents showing your employment or income.

You cannot apply if you already receive aid under MamaKerja 1.0, Asuh Pintar, Tunas, or BINGKAS.

Priority goes to mothers whose children attend registered kindergartens and taskas, or who are cared for by carers who have completed the Caretaking Basic Course or the Iltizam Penjagaan & Pendidikan Awal Kanak-Kanak programme. If your child is with one of these providers, have the taska or kindergarten registration number and your carer’s course certificate ready, along with your child’s birth certificate and your own salary slips.

The NINE app shows the full document list when applications open, so check there before you submit.

How And When The RM1,000 Is Paid

The RM1,000 does not come as one lump sum. It is credited to the e-wallet inside the NINE app itself, in two parts of RM500 each, with both payments made within 90 days of your application being approved.

Taska and kindergarten fees in Selangor commonly run between RM300 and RM800 a month, so RM500 covers roughly one month of care for many families rather than a full year. You will need the NINE app installed to receive and spend the money, and keep an eye on the approval date so you know when to expect each RM500.

What Comes After MamaKerja 2.0

Wanita Berdaya Selangor (WBS) will run the initiative, and the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) has signed a memorandum of understanding with WBS to monitor and evaluate its impact.

Recipients may also be surveyed as part of the evaluation and to help build MamaKerja+, a wider framework covering parenting, child development and family support that is expected to roll out in 2027.

With RM10.6 million allocated for the latest phase and 10,000 recipients targeted, the available assistance is limited. Check your eligibility and submit your application on the NINE app by 17 August to make sure you don’t miss out.

The NINE app is available on the Google Play Store, the Apple App Store, and Huawei App gallery, so download it before you start your application.
