Legally Blonde star Selma Blair has reportedly been arrested following an in-flight incident.
Blair — who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018 — was traveling Sunday on a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York when she allegedly punched one flight attendant and bit another, TMZ reported. She also allegedly attempted to open the plane’s door mid-flight.
Dispatch audio obtained by the outlet revealed that the injuries included a bloody nose and bite marks. One of the flight attendants was reportedly taken to the hospital. Other audio revealed Blair screaming “No!” repeatedly as alarms went off in the background.
Sources told the New York Post that Blair was eventually subdued and taken in an ambulance to a nearby hospital once the plane landed safely. She allegedly kicked a cop and attacked a nurse, resulting in charges against her, the outlet reported.
The Cruel Intentions star, 54, “experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct,” her representative told the Post, but is “in stable condition.”
The Independent has contacted Delta Airlines and a representative for Blair for comment.
A statement obtained by The Independent from the Port Authority Police Department, which oversees JFK Airport, said: “At approximately 11 p.m. at JFK Airport, PAPD responded to a call about a physically abusive passenger aboard Delta Airlines flight 938 which was parked at the gate after arrival from LAX.
“Suspect was identified as Selma Blair, a 54 year-old woman. She was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation. Two flight attendants also reported injuries, and one was transported to the hospital for further evaluation,” the statement continued, confirming that the FBI is investigating the incident.
As it turns out, Blair has a history of biting others.
In her 2022 memoir, Mean Baby: A Memoir of Growing Up, she admitted to having bitten Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Seth MacFarlane.
Blair has also suffered a previous flight meltdown in which she was kicked off an airplane for being intoxicated.
Speaking to US Weekly in 2024 about her sobriety and that incident, which she considered at that time to be her “lowest point” while drinking, Blair said: “I had too much to drink in Mexico. I was so messed up and dehydrated and hungover and didn’t know I had neurological issues. I didn’t understand anything. It was horrifying and humiliating. I had to grow up.”
In an apology after that incident, Blair said in part, “I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry.”
