SEN. Bong Go has hailed the approval on third and final reading of Senate Bill (SB) 1513, or the proposed Comprehensive Lupus Prevention Act, as he raised the importance of accessible and quality health care for those afflicted with lupus.
Go, vice chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, reaffirmed his commitment to advancing measures that ensure affordable health care for Filipinos suffering from chronic and life-threatening illnesses.
“I rise to co-sponsor this measure, which institutes a National Health Program to Combat Systemic Lupus Disease,” Go said on Monday. “This measure will not only help reduce delayed diagnoses, but it will also give every lupus patient, regardless of income or location, a fighting chance against this incurable disease.”
SB 1513 seeks to institutionalize a comprehensive national policy for the prevention, early detection, treatment, and long-term management of lupus.
