
MANILA, Philippines — The Senate, sitting as Impeachment Court, on Monday released the pre-trial order (PTO) containing the guidelines for the trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
The PTO contained the trial dates and the key points of the recently concluded pre-trial conference wherein the defense and prosecution teams marked their respective evidence.
“Released to the parties by electronic mail. Printed copies to be hand delivered [to the concerned parties],” Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. said in a text message.
Bantug, also the impeachment court's clerk of court said the PTO was emailed to the defense team at 5:23 p.m.
The prosecution's PTO copy was emailed at 5:24 p.m.
Bantug on Sunday said that the Senate premises will be opened to the public Filipinos who would want to watch the impeachment trial which is set start on July 6.
He said some seats will be allocated to the public. "Pwedeng walk-in pero kailangan mag-register sa Visitor Management ng Senado. Yung reservation ay maaring gawing online (Walk-ins are allowed but they need to register at the Senate's Visitor Management. Reservations can be made online)," he said.
However, Bantug said the plenary hall has limited seating capacity, with only 340 in the gallery and 30 at the VIP (very important person) box.
