
MANILA, Philippines — Six of the relatives of the students who were killed in the shooting at a high school in Tacloban, Leyte were invited in the Senate investigation on Wednesday.
The Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality leads the inquiry into the incident at the San Jose National High School and the link of online gaming platforms on violence among the youth.
Two of the victims' relatives will be present while the four others will participate online.
Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian confirmed his attendance to the public hearing to be led by Sen. Risa Hontiveros, the committee chairman.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla, acting Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida, Information Secretary Henry Aguda, Philippine National Police chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. will not be able to attend but will send their representatives.
