KOTA BELUD: A senior citizen suffered burns while escaping from a burning house at Kampung Narinang near here, Monday.
Dolim Parantis, 65, suffered burns to her back at the 10.10am incident.
Head of the Fire & Rescue Department, Muhammad Syazwan Latun said firemen received a call at 10.14am.
“Ten firemen including from the Volunteer Unit and EMRS Unit rushed to the scene upon receiving the call.
“The fire at the non-permanent 2-storey house also involved a mini tractor and 2 motorcycles,” he added.
He said the house and the three vehicles were burnt while the victim suffered burns.
The woman was sent to the Kota Belud Hospital after initial first-aid treatment.
“The cause of the fire is still under investigation while our operation ended at 11.55am,” he concluded.
