SEMPORNA: Police here are looking for a man (in picture) to assist in investigation into a hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a senior citizen on July 19.
District Police Chief, Supt Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah, said a 62-year-old man died following an accident about 8pm along Jalan Kampung Selamat, Jalan Persisiran Pantai.
Mohd Farhan said preliminary investigation believed that the victim was hit by a Perodua Axia (SB 602 G) when the driver lost control and hit the victim who was walking on the road shoulder.
“The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the incident. The victim was brought to the Semporna Hospital for further treatment but died on July 20.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
