Serbia coach Dragan Stojkovic is delighted with the commitment of Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic.
The youngster also qualified for Germany before Stojkovic's intervention.
He said, "We managed to resolve it and he preferred Serbia to Germany. Now it's up to him to justify himself. I'm glad he chose Serbia instead of Germany.
"The contact with Samardzic it's not new, but from last year when there was the match between Udinese and Milan. I wasn't there for Milan as the journalists wrote, but for Samardzic, to see his qualities.
"Towards the end of the year we had an agreement to meet and see each other again in March. For my part, I did everything possible, talking to him and his father. The decision was his, I can't force anyone."
