
A 16-YEAR-OLD schoolboy appeared in a Seremban Magistrate's Court today and pleaded not guilty to raping a 14-year-old female classmate in May.
The proceedings were held in a closed court as the accused is a minor.
The accused, a Form Four student, was charged under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code. The charge alleges that he committed the offence at 7.20 am on May 2, inside a classroom at a secondary school in Ampangan, Seremban.
If convicted, the student faces a prison sentence of between five and 20 years, and may also be whipped.
Deputy Public Prosecutor P. Rubini offered bail at RM7,000 with one surety and additional conditions. The accused, who was unrepresented, was bailed by his father, a retired soldier who had asked for a lower amount.
Magistrate Saiful Sayoti set bail at RM4,000 with the additional condition that the accused is not to disturb the victim or prosecution witnesses.
The case has been set for re-mention on November 5. - August 29, 2025
