The count-down to Motunui begins.

As Disney’s “Moana” Live-to-Film Concert sails toward its Oct. 3 and 4 performances at The Theatre at Solaire, fans can look forward to a weekend of music, adventure and a special opportunity to meet the artists bringing the beloved story to life.

The concert will feature Disney’s “Moana” projected on the big screen, accompanied by its acclaimed score and songs performed live by the 78-member Filharmonika Orchestra. Janella Salvador will provide the vocals for Moana, with Gian Magdangal as Maui, under the baton of conductor Gerard Salonga.

Adding to the excitement, six winners per show will be selected at random for an exclusive meet-and-greet with Salvador, Magdangal and Salonga following each performance.

To qualify, fans need to purchase at least four tickets, regardless of ticket tier, before the raffle closes. Those who have already purchased their tickets are automatically eligible, with no additional registration required.

Raffle tickets went on sale Sept. 10 and will run until 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 27. Winners will be announced at noon on Sept. 28 and contacted through the details provided with their ticket purchase.

Groups can also take advantage of the Wayfinder Bundle, available across all performances. With the purchase of two tickets in the same tier, buyers can receive a discount on a third ticket — 40 percent for the Moana Tier and 30 percent for the Maui Tier.

The discount will be applied automatically at checkout.

Dress for the adventure

Fans are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the islands by coming dressed as their favorite “Moana” characters and creatures. They may also cheer, sing along and clap during their favorite moments as the animated adventure unfolds on the big screen, accompanied by a live orchestra.

Audiences can answer the call of the ocean and set their sights beyond the reef this October.

Beabadoobee releases new album, ‘Pylon’

British-Filipino artist beabadoobee has released her highly anticipated new album, “Pylon,” now available digitally and on CD and vinyl through Dirty Hit/Interscope Records.

The follow-up to her UK No. 1 album, “This Is How Tomorrow Moves,” “Pylon” finds the singer-songwriter exploring a broader and more complex musical landscape. The richly textured rock record moves through anger, loneliness, euphoria, depression and the dizzying depths of being in love.

The album is led by the new single “Write Me a Letter,” a driving indie-rock track produced with Beatrice Laus’ longtime collaborators, The 1975 members Matty Healy and George Daniel.

Describing the song, Laus said it is about “seeing my fault in situations” while admitting things she might otherwise be too embarrassed to say aloud. The result is an intensely personal track and a fitting introduction to an album built around confronting emotions rather than hiding from them.

“I had to write these songs on tour or between tours because I had to understand what was going on in my head,” she said. “It’s this idea of letting go and accepting change. When I was on tour, I was yearning for something, and it made me think: How do I make myself feel comfortable? What does it mean to grow up? I was just missing how things were.”

That emotional honesty runs throughout “Pylon.” Songs including “Memories,” “Switchblade” and “Sun Has Set” revisit the raw vulnerability that characterized Laus’ earliest songwriting. Written in hotel rooms while she was on tour, the songs reminded her of creating music alone in her bedroom at 17.

The album also features collaborations with artists Laus once could only have dreamed of working with, including Hayley Williams, Turnstile’s Brendan Yates, Pinegrove’s Evan Stephens Hall, Deftones’ Chino Moreno and Title Fight’s Shane Moran.

Rather than offering easy answers, “Pylon” embraces uncertainty and the realization that growing up does not necessarily mean having everything figured out. Amid its turbulence and vulnerability, the album finds something liberating: the possibility that sitting with uncertainty can lead to something extraordinary.

Born in the Philippines and raised in London, Laus has established herself as a major figure in British alternative music. Across her three earlier acclaimed albums and five EPs, she earned multiple Brit Awards and BBC Sound of the Year nominations, won NME’s Radar Award, and amassed more than 10 billion streams worldwide and over 12 million followers across social media platforms.
