Setel has introduced a new Bill Payment feature in its app, allowing users in Malaysia to pay essential household bills directly through Setel. The feature covers utilities, water, telecommunications and broadband services, making it easier for users to manage their monthly commitments without switching between multiple apps.
At launch, Setel supports 25 billers, including Astro, CelcomDigi, TM, Air Selangor and Indah Water, with more billers expected to be added soon. This makes the app more useful for everyday payments, especially for users who already rely on Setel for fuel and other digital services.
The launch also marks another step in Setel’s expansion beyond fuel payments. What started as a simpler way to pay for petrol is now moving towards a wider daily payment ecosystem, in line with Setel’s “Setel je! semua setiap hari” approach and #SetelUntukMalaysia commitment.
According to Setel CEO Abdullah Ayman Awaluddin, the new feature reflects the company’s focus on building practical and relevant solutions that support Malaysians in everyday life. He added that Setel aims to continue delivering connected digital experiences that create real value for users.
“The introduction of ‘Bill Payment’ is another step in how we continue evolving alongside the changing needs of Malaysians, beyond mobility and into broader daily essentials.
As a homegrown brand, we remain focused on building solutions that are practical, relevant and grounded in the realities of everyday living.
Looking ahead, we want Setel to continue growing as a platform that supports Malaysians in more meaningful ways over time not only through innovation, but by consistently delivering experiences that create real everyday value.” – Abdullah Ayman Awaluddin, Chief Executive Officer of Setel.
To mark the launch, Setel is offering 10% cashback on bill payment transactions, capped at RM10 per month. The promotion runs from 18 May to 18 July 2026, giving users extra savings while trying out the new Bill Payment feature in the Setel app.
