Kota Kinabalu: City dwellers are urged to fulfil their responsibility in settling any outstanding payments, including assessment rates or compounds.
Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Sabin Samitah said City Hall (DBKK) would continue to identify individuals and companies that have outstanding tax and compound arrears.
He said City Hall will not hesitate to take legal action against individuals and companies that defaulted or failed to clear their arrears.
“Looking at the ignorant attitude of some people who still haven’t cleared their arrears despite the implementation of amnesty campaigns, the practice of giving reduction or discount will perhaps no longer be given,” he said in a statement, Friday.
