The Coroner’s Court in Seremban has fixed seven days for the inquest into the death of a 10-year-old boy found unconscious at a school in Senawang last October

SEREMBAN: The Coroner’s Court here today fixed seven days for the inquest into the death of a 10-year-old boy who was found unconscious at a school in Senawang in October last year.

Coroner Tasmin Abu Bakar set Sept 14 and 21, Oct 5 to 7, and Oct 21 and 28 as the hearing dates for the inquest, with all sessions scheduled to begin at 2.30 pm.

Earlier, officer conducting the inquest Norazihah Asmuni said 51 witnesses, including teachers, students and the victim’s friends, would be called to testify.

Present in court during today’s proceedings were the victim’s father, Muhammad Hafizuddin Abdullah, 41, and mother, Zuzita Murib Sagita, 40.

Counsel Muhammad Yazid Mohamad Salim, representing the victim’s family, submitted two applications seeking permission for the parents to examine witnesses and obtain copies of documents related to the inquest.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad was previously reported as saying that the cause of death of a Year Four pupil found unconscious at a school in Senawang on Oct 1 was pressure applied to the neck.

He said the post-mortem examination conducted at the Forensic Medicine Unit of Rembau Hospital also found no other injuries on the victim’s body.
