
Kota Kinabalu: A series of seven events will be held to celebrate the 72nd official birthday of Sabah Head of State Tun Musa Aman, beginning June 14.
Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam, who chairs the main celebration committee, said the programmes were carefully planned.
“This year, we have seven main events, similar to previous years,” he told reporters after paying a courtesy visit to Musa at Istana Seri Kinabalu.

“As the Governor represents all Sabahans, this event celebrates our unity,” Dr Joachim said.
A tahlil will be held on June 19, while the official parade and State awards ceremony will be held on June 21, followed by a grand banquet in the evening.
The Sabah Ethnic Day, to be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre, is expected to draw over 1,000 attendees, featuring nearly all of the State’s ethnic groups.
Also present were Assistant Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Isnin Aliasnih, Mayor Datuk Seri Sabin Samitah and Sabah Islamic Affairs Department Director Datuk Jumain Abdul Ghani.
