Seventeen members Mingyu, Seungkwan and Dino announce military service dates

MANILA, Philippines — Members of K-Pop boy group Seventeen Mingyu, Seungkwan and Dino are set to begin their mandatory military service.

Their label Pledis Entertainment announced the members' upcoming service dates on Monday and asked fans to respect their privacy during the enlistment process.

Seungkwan and Dino will serve in the Army's military band on Oct. 26 and are expected to take part in official activities before their enlistment. Pledis asked fans not to visit the enlistment site in person, citing the presence of other enlistees and their families.

"As numerous enlistees and their families will be present at the enlistment ceremony, we respectfully request that you refrain from visiting the site in person on the day of their enlistment," the agency said.

Mingyu will begin his military service on Sept. 10 through alternative service. Like Seungkwan and Dino, he will participate in official activities leading up to the start of his service.

Pledis said there will be no official event on the day Mingyu begins his service or when he subsequently reports to the training center. The agency also asked fans not to visit the location of his alternative service.

Once the three members begin their service, they will be unable to participate in Seventeen's activities.

However, Pledis said the group will continue to provide content for fans during their absence, with material prepared ahead of time.

"They will continue to connect with Carat through a variety of content prepared in advance," the agency said, referring to Seventeen's official fandom.

Pledis also encouraged fans to send their messages of support to the members through Weverse.

The agency ended its announcement with a message asking fans to continue supporting the three members throughout their service.

"We ask for your continued love and support for Mingyu, Seungkwan, and Dino until they complete their military service and return in good health," Pledis said. "Pledis Entertainment will continue to support our artists every step of the way."

Seventeen debuted in 2015 under PLEDIS Entertainment and has 13 members: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino.

The group has released numerous hit songs, including "Adore U," "Mansae," "Pretty U," "Very Nice," "Don't Wanna Cry," "Left & Right," "HOT," "Rock with you," "Super," "God of Music" and "Maestro."
