Kota Kinabalu: A 54-year-old man was ordered to enter his defence on two charges of committing physical sexual harassment against his daughter.
Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Shah made the order after ruling that the prosecution had established a prima facie case against the man.
The court set Sept 23 this year for the man’s defence.
On the first count, the man was accused of committing the offence against his 12-year- old daughter by licking her breasts in the evening of Oct 3, 2022 at a house in Kepayan, here.

Read more On the second count, he allegedly committed the same offence against the same girl by licking her breasts in the evening of April and May 2022 at the same place.
The offence under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 provides for a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.
Due to the relationship between the man and the girl, there is additional punishment for the Silat teacher under Section 16(1) of the same Act which provides for a jail term of up to five years, and whipping of at least two strokes, on conviction.
The prosecution had called three witnesses during the hearing.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Dacia Jane Romanus conducted the prosecution while counsel Arthur Borine defended the accused.
