
Kota Kinabalu: A 30-year-old secondary school teacher from Melaka was charged with committing physical sexual harassment against his 15-year-old male student.
The teacher pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus to the charge against him on Friday.
He allegedly committed the offence against the boy by fondling his private part at 12pm on Feb 21, this year, at an apartment unit in Penampang.
The offence, under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, provides for a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.

Read more The court set Nov 27-29 this year for hearing the case and released the teacher on a bail of RM20,000 with RM10,000 deposited in three sureties and one of the surety must be a local.
The teacher was also ordered to report to Alor Gajah police station in Melaka twice a month.
His passport, if any, will be kept by the court until the disposal of his case.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Hajar Mazlan appeared for the prosecution while counsel Siti Mahsuri Dicky dan Reagan Moo Fei Liq defended the teacher.
