Recently, a primary school vice-principal in Singapore tendered his resignation after being accused of having an extramarital affair with a student’s parent.

Photos of the vice-principal and a person, who is allegedly a parent of one of his students, which were taken in public by the couple themselves were put up on social media and went viral.

Although the post has been taken down as of Oct 18, screenshots of their conversations have continued going viral. However, it is unconfirmed whether they are authentic or not.

In one of their conversations, it seems that the couple had set up several ground rules for their affair. This included keeping each other updated, meeting up twice a week and not cutting one another off.

The screenshots of their conversation have gone viral on X, where netizens expressed their amusement over the messages.

While the majority were amused by the message which seemed to recap all the ground rules they had talked about in person.

The Ministry of Education is investigating the matter

In response to media queries, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Education said that they are aware of the incident and are looking into the matter.

It was reported that the vice-principal in question has tendered his resignation and is currently on leave.

The affected school will continue to closely monitor the teachers’ and students’ condition, and provide support when necessary.

The Ministry added that the personal conduct of school leaders must be maintained at high standards to safeguard the integrity and reputation of public service.
