PITAS: Parti Warisan (Warisan) will not join any political alliance, with its president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, stressing that the party’s only partnership is with the people of Sabah.
He was responding to Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s comment that Barisan Nasional (BN) was open to working with any party in the State, alongside Umno Vice President Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin’s suggestion of a possible ‘third force’ in Sabah politics.
Shafie said Warisan’s position was clear and that it would contest all 73 seats in the coming State Election.
He told supporters at a Warisan programme in Kampung Dandun on Saturday that the party was not forming a coalition with any other party, adding that Warisan’s coalition was with the people.
The event was also attended by Kudat Warisan Acting Chief Fauziah Mohd Fuad Stephens, former Banggi Assemblyman Datuk Mijul Unaini and other party leaders.
