The LRT3 Shah Alam Line is now open, with free rides on the trains and feeder buses through 31 July. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made the announcement at the line’s official launch at the Johan Setia station depot.

The line is 37.8km long, connecting Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya to Johan Setia in Klang via 20 stations. Prasarana Malaysia Bhd expects the line to carry around 67,000 passengers daily in its first year, with more than two million residents living along the route across Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, and Klang.

The First Rail Option for Klang and Shah Alam

Road traffic between Klang, Shah Alam, and Petaling Jaya has long been among the busiest in the Klang Valley. If you live along that stretch, the LRT3 is the first rail option you have into the wider Rapid KL network without driving.

The line connects to the MRT Kajang Line at Bandar Utama and the LRT Kelana Jaya Line at Glenmarie, with both connecting you to Kuala Lumpur.

Your My50 Pass Covers This Line From August

You’ll still need to tap in and out at fare gates, and your Touch ‘n Go card or travel pass must carry a minimum stored value of RM5 to enter. The My50 unlimited travel pass will be extended to cover the LRT3 from 1 August, once the free period ends. If you already hold a My50 pass, the Shah Alam line is included at no extra cost from that date.
