SHAH ALAM, Sept 22 - Shah Alam remains the only area in Selangor recording an unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) reading as of 9am today.
According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), Shah Alam recorded a reading of 109, while Johan Setia improved to a moderate level at 99.
At the national level, the portal recorded ten areas in Sarawak with unhealthy readings, with Sibu recording the highest at 178, followed by Sri Aman (169), Mukah (168), IPD Serian (160), Kuching (157), Samalaju, Bintulu, Kapit and Sarikei at 156 each, and Samarahan (155).
Three more stations nationwide recorded unhealthy readings, namely; Putrajaya (151), Nilai (108), and Politeknik Kota Kinabalu (103).
There were 51 stations recording moderate readings, including areas in Selangor such as Johan Setia (99), Petaling Jaya (97), Banting (87), Klang (86), and Kuala Selangor (73).
Three stations nationwide recorded good air quality: Langkawi (47), Tanah Merah (44), and Balik Pulau (38).
API readings of zero to 50 indicate good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and 301 and above hazardous.
