KOTA KINABALU: Tanjung Keramat assemblyman Shah Alfie Yahya has called for fast and effective implementation of the 2026 Sabah State Budget to ensure allocations bring tangible benefits to the people.

Debating the budget, Shah welcomed the projected RM6.43 billion revenue and RM6.402 billion expenditure, producing a RM28 million surplus, and stressed that delays would undermine its impact.

He praised allocations for economic development, including RM194.04 million for the Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport Ministry and RM15 million for the SME-UP programme, and announced the creation of a Tanjung Keramat Economic Desk to assist micro-entrepreneurs.

Shah also welcomed funding for fisheries, infrastructure, youth development and social welfare, highlighting major allocations for water development, public works and housing assistance for B40 families.

He reaffirmed full support for the budget, urging all agencies to act quickly to improve livelihoods, infrastructure and community wellbeing across the state.
