PUTATAN: Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Ir Shahelmey Yahya said the Sabah State Water Department (JANS) will now provide hourly water level reports for the R13 tank at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) to help the university manage its water pumping schedule.

The decision follows a site visit and discussions between JANS and UMS management over recent water supply disruptions on campus. Although the tank receives sufficient water, a faulty indicator misled UMS, complicating pump operations.

JANS will send hourly updates until a new indicator is installed within one to two weeks. Shahelmey also instructed JANS to log daily supply data for May, which showed sufficient water supply since May 19. A temporary pump failure between May 14–19 may have caused earlier issues.
