Kota Kinabalu: Society needs to be shaped to always obey the law, disciplined and has integrity to achieve a goal of having a peaceful and corruption-free country, said Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Datuk Azam Baki.
“We see from the phase of university students at the study centre, MACC needs to approach and educate this group in order to create a society with integrity so that they don’t experience culture shock and expose to negative elements such as earning a lucrative income in the shortest way like unethical and illegal.
“At the end, the effect will cause them to be involved in social ill activities and crime act. Certainly, it may lead to occurrence of legal implications,” he said when attending the 2023 MACC Chief Commissioner’s Cup Higher Education Institution Anti-Corruption Debate Competition at a Recital Hall, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) on Thursday.
