Kota Kinabalu: Property owners in Sabah can expect to occupy their units soonest under a new by-law – the Uniform Building By-Law (UBBL) 2022 - that was gazetted on Dec 29, 2022 under the Local Government Ordinance 1961.
The UBBL 2022, replacing the Building By-Laws 1951 and in force on June 1, is an updated uniform building by-law to be implemented by all Local Authorities in Sabah.
One of the vital provisions of the new by-law is the issuance of the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC), which replaces the Occupation Certificate (OC), to the developer that ensures safe occupation of a building.
