Sheffield United star Sander Berge committed his immediate future to the club this winter.
Manager Paul Heckingbottom did have concerns about Berge wanting to leave for a Premier League club.
He even took the midfielder out of a recent squad for a 3-3 draw with National League side Wrexham in the FA Cup.
Heckingbottom admitted in a recent news conference that Berge is staying.
He said: "There was interest and bids and I know they (Berge and teammate Iliman Ndiaye) could have been sold, but they weren't.
I said all along at Wrexham that Sander wasn't there because there was speculation.
'I was still hopeful he wouldn't go. I didn't want him to go and Sander is comfortable. Sander is delighted he is still here. I am pleased and grateful we have kept the players."
