Former Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood says their revival is good for the Premier League.

Villa meet Arsenal today on the back of victory over Manchester City.

Sherwood said: "For me, the game at Villa Park was the most dominant performance I've ever seen against this Man City Guardiola side. It was top class from start to finish for Unai Emery's side.

"If they were to beat Arsenal today, I think we'd seriously have to consider them as title contenders. When you look at what they've got on the bench, they might run out of firepower. Ollie Watkins is possible their only centre-forward.

"But they've got international players coming off the bench, changing it. They're exciting, they're well-drilled, the manager's done an absolutely magnificent job there.

"I think it's really exciting for the Premier League. It's going to go right to the wire, it's not going to be a 100-point season for Man City this year. They need to find their way again. We can't write them off, of course we can't.

"It's brilliant for the Premier League. It's absolutely fantastic that there are some top teams getting better. But also at the bottom end, there's some really poor teams."
