It is rare for a Union minister to write a book on a sitting Prime Minister. But Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has done just that.
Chouhan on Thursday announced that he has written a book based on his experiences of working with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past three decades.
Titled “Apnapan”, the book will be released in Delhi on May 26.
“Over three decades of public life, working alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi in different roles and responsibilities, I had the opportunity to closely observe his leadership, organisational abilities, governance style and dedication to the nation,” Chouhan said.
He described the book as an attempt to capture the experiences, emotions, inspirations and values he encountered while working with Modi.
Chouhan said he hoped the book would inspire readers, especially young people, to contribute towards building a developed India through the ideals of service, empathy, patriotism and public welfare.
“Sometimes in life, you get the opportunity to work with a personality whom the world sees as a leader, but you see as a karamyogi, a seeker and a person completely devoted to the nation,” he said.
Calling the book “a journey of experiences, struggles, discipline and national service”, Chouhan said he had seen in Modi a style of leadership shaped by “penance, discipline and a sense of belonging towards the people”.
He added that the book attempts to show how “small efforts, dedication and taking people along” can pave the way for major change.
