Senate President Mutang Tagal is facing serious health challenges at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur. Sarawak Deputy Minister Gerawat Gala reported Mutang's critical condition, citing updates from his family.

“I just learned that his health remains serious with little improvement since his return from Azerbaijan,” Gerawat stated, according to The Borneo Post. “We are hoping for a rapid recovery for him.”

Gerawat, who often played golf with Mutang, expressed his surprise at the 69-year-old's health situation. He described Mutang as usually fit and healthy, making his heart condition unexpected.

Yesterday, the office of the Dewan Negara president requested the public to avoid spreading rumors or false information regarding Mutang’s health.

Mutang was in Azerbaijan to lead the Malaysian delegation at the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue from May 1-3 in Baku. Unfortunately, he required medical attention during his trip and returned to Malaysia on May 6 for further treatment.

Upon his return, Mutang was admitted to the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur, where he remains in serious condition.

Mutang Tagal made history earlier this year when he became the first indigenous Sarawakian to take on the role of Senate president on February 19. He succeeded Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar in the position.

As the situation continues to develop, many are hoping for Mutang's swift recovery and improved health.

Mutang's appointment to the role of Dewan Negara president marked a significant milestone for Sarawak, and he has been a respected figure in Malaysian politics. His leadership and dedication have been admired by many, making the news of his health struggles all the more concerning for his colleagues and constituents alike.

Gerawat emphasized the importance of allowing medical professionals to focus on Mutang’s treatment and urged the public to respect the family’s privacy during this challenging time. He also encouraged people to refrain from speculation, emphasizing that updates should come directly from the family.

The Malaysian delegation that Mutang led to Azerbaijan was a notable event, emphasizing Malaysia's commitment to intercultural dialogue on the global stage. Mutang's role in leading the delegation was seen as a testament to his experience and knowledge in international affairs.

Mutang's current health battle is a stark reminder of how quickly situations can change. Just days earlier, he was representing Malaysia on an international stage. Now, he is in critical condition at the National Heart Institute, fighting for his health.

The nation's thoughts and prayers are with Mutang Tagal and his family as they navigate this difficult time. His colleagues in the Dewan Negara and across the political spectrum hope for his speedy recovery and a return to good health. His contributions to Malaysia's political landscape are significant, and his leadership will be missed during his recovery period.

The public awaits further updates on Mutang's condition and continues to hope for positive news. In the meantime, the focus remains on ensuring he receives the best possible medical care to aid his recovery.
