Preliminary police investigations revealed that the incident is believed to have stemmed from a dispute over the shop rental contract, which is set to expire this August.
“Checks on the main female suspect showed she did not have any prior criminal record, while the male suspect has four past records involving drug offenses and mischief,” he said.
Jasmin said he case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 323 for causing injury.
He also urged the public not to take matters into their own hands to resolve disputes, but instead to refer issues to the authorities to avoid any unwanted incidents.
