Over the years, online shopping has been an essential part of our lives especially during the peak of the pandemic. Along with the convenience it provides, customers are able to purchase anything they need at the comfort of their own home. Just 3 days ago, Shopee has announced some changes to their policy, accommodating to faster delivery and shipping time!
Shopee to ship out parcels within 2 days
Effective 17 June 2024, two new policies would be implemented for their local preferred, preferred+ and Shopee Mall sellers. The two new policies include:
- Average Preparation Time (APT) criteria to be replaced with a Fast Handover Rate (FHR) of ≥ 60% for Preferred and Mall sellers, and ≥ 70% for Preferred+ sellers.
- Platform days-to-ship (DTS) policy will expand to include Saturday as a working day.

Sharing their updated policies, it was reported that the new adjustments implemented are to help fulfill their commitment towards delivering a buyer-centric and best-in-class customer experience. The revised policies can also help the platform and seller exceed buyers’ expectations.
In addition to that, the enhanced ship-out time will help build trust with sellers, making it a driving force for customers to repeat orders. To further clarify, the e-commerce brand has shared the definition of “Fast Handover Rate”, which refers to the percentage of parcels that are handed over to and scanned by logistics providers within a specific time period (to qualify as “fast”), within the last 30 days.
To be considered as “Fast Handover”:
- Orders paid by buyers up to 2:00 PM* – Parcels must be handed over to logistics providers (scanned in) by 11:59 PM of the same working day.
- Orders paid by buyers after 2:00 PM* – Parcels must be handed over to logistics providers (scanned in) by 11:59 PM of the next working day.
Saturdays to be listed as working day
On top of the new policies, Shopee has also updated its working days, listing Saturdays as regular working days for Shopee Mall, Preferred and Preferred+ sellers. The platform days-to-ship (DTS) policy will expand to include all states, except public holidays and Fridays (for Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu).

To support the changes and help ease the sellers into the new policies, weekend seller incentives are offered to vendors who are operating on the weekend towards meeting the new performance criteria.
