Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve definitely spotted Chiikawa taking Hong Kong by storm. These irresistibly cute characters have exploded into a pop culture sensation since their debut in 2017. Created by illustrator Nagano in a charming manga series, there’s more to them than just their kawaii appeal. Fans are equally drawn to their surprisingly relatable stories. We’ve listed some noteworthy Chiikawa collabs in Hong Kong below.
At the heart of the series are Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, three endearing friends navigating life’s everyday ups and downs. Their world is a mix of whimsy and quiet struggles. They work odd jobs, face strange monsters, and weather emotional highs and lows, all while leaning on each other for support. With its deceptively simple art style, the series strikes a deep chord, blending warmth, humour, and subtle commentary on modern anxieties. It’s no wonder Hong Kong has fallen in love. Chiikawa isn’t just adorable, it’s a reminder that even life’s smallest challenges are better faced together.
Hong Kong’s love for Chiikawa is undeniable. In fact, the city has embraced the adorable phenomenon with a wave of exciting collaborations and pop-up experiences. From large-scale spectacles like the fully decked-out Chiikawa Light Rail to charming little details like limited-edition latte art in local cafes, these collaborations are popping up everywhere. Oh and if you’re an avid fan, don’t forget to stop by the CHIIKAWA DAYS exhibition at K11 MUSEA. Which of these Hong Kong Chiikawa collabs is your favourite? Also a reminder to act fast as these limited merch sell out fast.

Chiikawa x UNIQLO

If you want to show your love for the cute little creatures via attire, head over to a UNIQLO near you. Stocking clothes for kids and women, you can shop adorable graphic tees. The collection also features Joke Bear and Friends, all illustrated by the Chiikawa creator himself, Nagano. The UNIQLO items have been a huge hit, and they’ve recently restocked their collection, so get your hands on them before they sell out (again). If you’re looking for a larger variety, UNIQLO’s sister brand, GU’s Chiikawa collab has everything from kids’ pajamas to chic women’s shirts, and also bag charms. Unfortunately, they’re all sold out at the moment, look out for any restocks.

As always, CASETiFY is quick to act on trends and collaborations. The Chiikawa collection sees phone cases, phone charms, and AirPod cases. And in all honesty, we can’t quite get over how adorable the summertime-themed collection is. We may be getting influenced by the Chiikawa overload in Hong Kong, but we also like how the CASETiFY cases aren’t too out there. And if you plan to spend more of your time beating the summer heat at the pool, you can’t miss out on the Chiikawa floatie—designed not for you, but your phone. If you purchase the Chiikawa Summer Party Premium Box Set (RM642), you get the little floatie for free.

Yes Chiikawa fashion is so in right now. You can shop graphic tees, hoodies, sweatshirts, and more at Catalog. If that feels a bit much, you can grab Chiikawa-themed accessories instead.
