An old rivalry took a ghastly turn in Mohalla Guru Nanak Estate on Tajpur Road as miscreants opened fire at a house.
They shattered the house’s windows and damaged valuables. The police registered a case of attempt to murder against six main suspects, including a woman, and some unidentified assailants.
Complainant Kiran Garg told the police that she and her husband, Mani Garg, had gone to the CMCH. On the intervening night of May 11 and 12, her elder sister, Jyoti, informed them about firing at their house. When the couple arrived, the attackers fled the scene.
The complainant told the police that the mastermind of the attack was Sunidhi Manoch, alias Naina, a woman staying in the neighbourhood. Naina called her friends and orchestrated the attack due to an old rivalry. The suspects arrived on a bullet bike and other vehicles. They were also carrying sharp and illegal weapons.
Based on Kiran Garg’s statements, the police named six suspects in the case, identified as Sunidhi Manoch, alias Naina, Nabiam Chaudhary, alias Sidhu, Puneet Bains, alias Mani Bains, Vishal Gill, Naina Bain, Gaurav Singh, and around 10 unidentified accomplices. The police were conducting raids to nab the suspects.
