The last 2 years have been very hectic for everyone. It’s a solid mix of way too much stress, confusion, and all things negative thrown into 2 years. It’s given a lot of people to chew on. However, one thing still lingers though: wearing masks.
Despite the Malaysian government relaxing mask rules, it does not mean that everyone is ready to stop wearing them. Everywhere we go, we can still see people wearing masks proactively. It does not necessarily need to be a bad thing as these people still live with high-risk people.
With everyone so used to wearing masks, I don’t think we should stop wearing it yet. Here are some solid reasons why we should all still wear it.
1. Living with people who are prone to diseases
Some people may live with people who have health issues. Even if their family members or housemates may not have health issues, these people may live with elderly people or young children. Elderly people and children do not have as strong immune systems as the rest of us adults. By not wearing masks, we are putting these people in potential health danger. Most people are immune to Covid by now. However, it does not mean that we should be less vigilant about it.
2. You may still catch Covid
You may be one of the few people who have not caught Covid yet. Let’s hope that you will never catch it. Even if you haven’t caught it, you may catch it nonetheless if you aren’t careful enough. Always mask up when you are in public spaces, enclosed or not. If you do catch it, it can become a very painful experience for you. Not forgetting to mention, it can be very inconvenient for you too.
3. Your colleagues and workmates may not have strong immune systems
This is pretty much the same as living with your flatmates or family members. Your workmates and colleagues may not have as strong an immune system as you do. Be a good colleague and mask up for your workmates. The fewer people catching covid, the better.
Bottom Line
Despite all that has been said, please continue to mask up for everyone’s health and safety. Although catching Covid has become less common does not mean that people won’t catch it. People still can catch it nonetheless. Avoid spreading the virus where possible.
