SEPANG: The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS)  director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain will face two charges at the Sepang Magistrate’s Court tomorrow over an incident at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar confirmed the matter to Kosmo! today.

“I can confirm that Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily will be charged at the Sepang Magistrate’s Court tomorrow morning on two counts,” he said.

The case relates to an incident on Sept 28, in which two enforcement officers allegedly claimed they were physically assaulted by Mohd Shuhaily.

According to their lawyer, the two officers were carrying out their official duties when the alleged incident occurred in a public area, resulting in injuries and affecting their dignity as enforcement personnel.

On Oct 17, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) had returned the investigation papers to the police for further action.

He said the AGC had requested several improvements to the investigation papers before deciding on the next course of action.

Saifuddin added that the police had been instructed to complete their investigation in accordance with the AGC’s requirements.
