My family and I would pass through the quiet town of Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan each time we went back to my hubby’s hometown in Triang, Pahang.
Usually, during public holidays, we would be caught in a jam along the main road passing through the villages. At times, we would stop by the many fruit stores by the roadside to buy seasonal fruits like rambutans & Durian Bukit.

When we went back for the Chinese New Year celebration recently, my hubby’s younger brother told us about the Chinese temple which he visited earlier. His former classmate told him about it and recommended that he visit the temple on the way back to Triang.

On the second day of the Chinese New Year, we visited Si Thian Kong Temple at Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan. We were awed by the size of the temple with its grand structures that welcome us at the entrance of the temple. Apparently, it is one of the largest Taoist temples at Kuala Pilah. The original temple was located in the town center of Kuala Pilah. Then in 2015, it was moved to this current site. The new temple is located about 7 km from the old temple along the main road that leads to Tampin. It used to be a small temple then with generous donations from donors and devotees, massive constructions were carried out and expanded to what it is now. A huge donation of RM4 million was given by a single generous donor to allow such mass construction to expand the temple. Construction is still ongoing at the hillside behind the temple and its side parameters of it.
The main deity God worships at this temple is the Nine Emperor Gods. The temple looks grand and lots of beautiful lanterns with CNY decorations and lovely potted flowers decorated within the premises of the temple. At night, lots of lanterns and colorful lights will be lit up and you would expect a spectacular view. A good place to capture memorable photos. Huge structures were seen around the temple with impressive sparkling decorations. There are food stores opened to cater to the CNY crowd behind the temple.
Si Thian Kong Temple is a must-visit place in Kuala Pilah. I can’t wait to see what are the new attractions after the final construction as the total land area is 18 acres. Thanks to the effort of their devotees and rich donors. For now, admission is free and you can park at the front of the temple driveway by the sides.
