Dermot Murnaghan's former BBC Breakfast colleague, Sian Williams, has paid tribute to the veteran broadcaster following his death.
The former Sky News anchor died “peacefully” on Saturday (11 July) aged 68 “following a period of illness with prostate cancer”, his family said in a statement.
Murnaghan was a main presenter of BBC Breakfast from September 2002 to December 2007, and he also hosted the quiz show Eggheads.
Williams, who co-hosted the breakfast show, said of Murnaghan: "The reason that so many viewers had trust in him was because they knew he had done the work."
