  • His health issues, caused by three slipped disks, have led to multiple spinal surgeries in 2021, 2022 (which also addressed a broken shoulder), and 2023.
  • The 66-year-old presenter stated on the Session 7 podcast that he is "sick" and finds dealing with his wheelchair use "horrendous".
  • In May 2024, Holmes and his partner of 27 years, Ruth Langsford, announced their decision to split, with Langsford later admitting she felt "blindsided" and "broken" by the breakup.
  • Following the separation, Holmes began dating relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, while Langsford has stated she is not ready for a new relationship.
