Sindumin rep seeks answers on RM130m SFI aid

Kota Kinabalu: Sindumin Assemblyman Yusri Pungut (pic) called for Government action over the displacement of local workers at the Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park (SOGIP), delayed allocations for opposition-held constituencies and the alleged RM130 million aid for former Sabah Forest Industries (SFI) workers.

Debating the Supplementary Supply Bill 2026 on Monday, he urged the authorities to conduct stricter background checks on foreign workers employed at SOGIP to protect local job opportunities.

Yusri also called for the immediate release of overdue development allocations to opposition-held constituencies and sought an explanation over the RM130 million aid, saying former SFI workers had claimed they never received the assistance.
