KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 — Singapore-headquartered Bitdeer Technologies Group (Bitdeer) has expressed its intention to continue investing in Malaysia due to its confidence in the Madani government’s direction and policies on digital transformation.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this was conveyed to him during a courtesy visit from Bitdeer founder, chairman and chief executive officer Jihan Wu, along with his delegation, earlier yesterday.

The Nasdaq-listed company, which provides cloud computing services for artificial intelligence (AI) and Bitcoin mining infrastructure, is currently finetuning a long-term investment proposal to develop world-class AI infrastructure in Malaysia, Anwar said in a post on X.

“I emphasised that such an investment must create job opportunities and provide training to develop the expertise of Malaysians, particularly in AI, engineering and advanced computing.

“The Madani government will continue to facilitate strategic investments such as this to ensure that the growth of the digital economy also strengthens local industries and creates more high-value job opportunities for Malaysians,” Anwar added. — Bernama
