Singapore COE prices for cars break records for third round running — Cat A premiums surpass S$100,000 for first time

SINGAPORE, April 20 — Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices for cars and open category vehicles hit new highs in the latest bidding exercise that ended yesterday (April 19).

Premiums for small cars (up to 1,600cc & 97kW), or fully electric cars with output of up to 110kW, went up by 7.48 per cent to S$103,721 (RM344,841).

This is the first time that prices in this category have gone above S$100,000.

Premiums for large cars (above 1,600cc or 97kW), or fully electric cars with output over 110kW, shot up from S$118,501 in the previous bidding exercise to reach another high of S$120,889.

In the open category, which can be used for any type of vehicles except motorcycles, premiums rose by 4.63 per cent to a record S$124,501.

Motorcycle premiums went up to S$12,179, compared to S$12,001 in the previous bidding exercise.

For the goods vehicles and buses category, however, COE prices dipped by 1.91 per cent to S$75,334.
