SINGAPORE Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will undertake a special visit to Malaysia this Friday, where he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for high-level discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing shared regional priorities.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said both leaders are expected to review progress on matters of mutual interest, including outcomes from the Leaders’ Retreat held on 4 December 2025.

The meeting is anticipated to reinforce existing collaborations and explore new areas of partnership between the two neighbouring nations.

Singapore remains one of Malaysia’s closest partners within ASEAN, with longstanding and wide-ranging ties spanning trade, investment, infrastructure, and people-to-people links.

The city-state is Malaysia’s second-largest trading partner, with total trade reaching RM402.35 billion (US$93.97 billion) in 2025, reflecting a 1.5 per cent increase compared with the previous year.

The upcoming visit underscores the continued importance both governments place on maintaining close diplomatic engagement and deepening economic integration amid evolving regional and global dynamics. - February 19, 2026
