THE Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has issued a recall for both dry and soup versions of “Samy Instant Cooking Bak Kut Teh with Rice.”
The reason? The product was imported from an unauthorised source in Malaysia.
These instant meals contain more than 5% pork, which under SFA regulations, can only be imported from approved suppliers.
As a precautionary measure, the agency has directed importers Biscotti Trading Pte Ltd and Boughtnex Pte Ltd to recall all existing stock.
This isn’t the first time this week SFA has raised concerns about imported food from Malaysia, according to FMT.
Yesterday, they advised consumers to avoid “Kingu Ginseng Candy” due to the presence of tadalafil, a prescription medication for erectile dysfunction.
