SINGAPORE-BASED cloud telephony provider Velox Networks has launched operations in the Philippines, its third Southeast Asian market, after the new Konektadong Pinoy Act (Republic Act 12234) opened the country’s telecom sector to enterprise communications providers.

In a statement, Velox Networks founder and CEO Martin Nygate said the Philippines was currently at “an inflection point” as businesses seek enterprise-grade voice solutions that do not rely on legacy copper and cable networks.

“Cloud telephony eliminates the dependency on physical cable networks entirely. Businesses get enterprise-grade voice infrastructure delivered over the internet — no copper, no spaghetti wires, no legacy PBX hardware,” he said.

Nygate also highlighted Velox’s local presence and commitment.

“We’re not entering the Philippines remotely. We’ve built a team on the ground across Manila and Cebu because we believe this market deserves the same level of service and support [that] we provide in Singapore and Malaysia. The regulatory environment is moving in the right direction, and we’re committed to being here for the long term."

The Philippines’ telecommunications landscape has long been characterized by tangled overhead cables, often called “spaghetti wires,” which pose safety risks.

Recent measures, including city ordinances in Manila and Cebu and the proposed Anti-Dangling Wires and Cables Act (House Bill 1403), signal a national shift toward modern, cloud-based communications infrastructure.

Velox’s platform provides cloud-based business phone numbers, call recording and archiving, CRM integration, multi-location support, and enterprise-grade security, enabling micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to upgrade from consumer-grade tools to professional communications systems.

Founded in 2017, Velox Networks is regulated by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority and specializes in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services, offering scalable, fully cloud-hosted phone systems for businesses seeking modern, cost-efficient, and compliant communications solutions.
