Stricken by poverty, a single mother in Johor Bahru has allegedly forced her underage daughter into prostitution with various men, to pay off her loan shark's debt.
Fortunately, the 17 years old girl from Taman Johor Jaya was rescued in March this year after the police gets tip-off by a senior social worker at the local shelter, Lin Daoxiang.
It is reported by China Press that a 57 years old Chinese man was arrested for investigation, into the allegation of having sex with an underage minor and charged with rape.
The daughter was also forced by her mother to recognize the creditors as "godfathers" before selling her body to the creditors. During those periods, she needs to refer to them as "boyfriend", and she would be referred to as "girlfriend".
According to reports, the man who was referred to as "godfather" would pass the payment of RM100 to her mother to have sex with her.
Similar arrangements were also made with other men that the mothers have owned some loans.
The family lives in the same properties with the multiple men that loaned the mother their money. Some of the loans were also made using the daughter's name.
The WhatsApp conversation also shows that the mother accumulated RM4,062 to RM5,562 debt to a man between February and March.

According to reports from Daily Star, her late older sister was also forced into prostitution when she was still a minor just like the daughter. However, due to the physical and mental abuse, she suffers at that time, she decided to commit suicide.
Sick of her mother's abuse, the daughter asked Lin Daoxiang, the social worker for help to report the case to the police, and rescue her from the situation.
During the interview, Lin stated that the daughter's low IQ made her easy to be manipulated, thus making it easier to be exploited by others.
" She was in distress with her situation and hope to stay in the children's shelter but that doesn't give her a long-term solution. The volunteers and I decided to take the case to the government welfare bureau in Johor Bahru, and take over it.", says Lin.

Daily Star also reported that, initially, the mother agree to place the daughter in the children's shelter, with the promise of education, protection, and visitations, scheduled in October next year.
However, the mothers and the creditors continue to harass the daughter at the children's shelter and threatened the volunteers at the shelters.
Lin had received calls from the mother's creditors on the 19th of September, constantly questioning and pressuring him to reveal the daughter's whereabouts.

After some consideration, they decided to lodge reports on Tuesday on the harassment to the police, hoping for authoritative intervention in arranging the girl's case with the government welfare bureau.
It has been reported that the girl is reluctant to stay with her mother anymore
