Kota Kinabalu: A single mother has raised an alarm against a man with a Datuk Seri title over what she said was harassment and stalking that has persisted for four years.
A press conference video in Oriental Daily News Malaysia's Facebook shows the woman detailing her experiences of being pursued relentlessly by the married man as she distanced herself from him due to his behaviour.
A report by Oriental Daily News revealed that the woman, identified as Ms. Chen, 46, first met the 55-year-old man in 2017 while working in real estate sales, where he was a client.
In the press conference, Ms. Chen claimed that the Datuk Seri had sent her thousands of emails, with the content ranging from declarations of love to insults.

“He said: ‘If I give one million to all the women I know, they would queue from KLCC to PJ,’” she added, condemning the statement as degrading to women.
She also revealed that the harassment extended beyond digital communication.
“Sometimes when I came home, I found flowers or even a satay takeaway hanging outside my door. It made me and my children very scared.”
The situation escalated to the point where Ms. Chen had to install CCTV cameras outside her residence for safety.
“Sometimes he would send me money, and then he would pretend, saying: ‘Hey, I think I transferred some money to you, did you notice?’ That would make me anxious, and when I checked, I found it was true,” she said.
Fearing the implications of accepting the money, she immediately took action.
“I was scared. I immediately told my daughter to return the money to his shop. I do not want people to think there was any relationship between us,” she said.
She further expressed her fear that he might have installed tracking or listening devices on her vehicle, emphasising the level of distress she has endured due to the situation.
The press conference was facilitated by MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong.
Ms. Chen reportedly had sought help from the MCA three years ago to stop the man’s advances.
However, the man allegedly threatened to sue her for defamation in response to her complaint.
