Six foreign nationals were remanded for seven days over a man’s death during a brawl in Rasa, Hulu Selangor, police say

KUALA LUMPUR: Six foreign nationals have been remanded for seven days to assist the investigation into the death of a man during a brawl in Rasa, Hulu Selangor, yesterday.

Hulu Selangor police chief Supt M. Manimaran said the suspects, comprising four men and two women, were remanded from today until Sept 16 to facilitate investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

He said police received a report at about 9 pm yesterday regarding an altercation involving seven foreign nationals.

“Preliminary investigations at the scene found that the victim, a foreign man in his 40s, had been pronounced dead at the location.

“Acting on information received, police subsequently arrested six suspects, aged between 30 and 50,” he said in a statement today.

Manimaran said that with the arrest of all six suspects, police considered the murder case solved.

He said further checks found that none of the suspects had prior criminal records, while urine screening tests showed that all six tested negative for drugs.
