Six form four students released on police bail following bullying incident

SIX Form Four male students arrested in connection with a bullying incident at a school in Pasir Mas last week have been released on police bail this morning.

Pasir Mas District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Kama Azural Mohamed, confirmed that the release follows the expiry of their remand period and is pending further instructions from the public prosecutor.

"The remand period for the six students ends today, and we have released them on police bail while awaiting further direction from the prosecution," he said when contacted.

The students were initially detained last Tuesday, a day after they allegedly assaulted a Form Three student and forcibly pulled down his trousers, causing the victim to sustain injuries.

The suspects had been held on a six-day remand as police investigated the incident, which drew public condemnation after reports of the abuse surfaced in the media. - August 25, 2025
